COVID-19: Nigeria goes one day without dying

For the first time in recent weeks, Nigeria has gone a day without registering a number of COVID-19-related deaths, with a progressive government saying the virus should not be misunderstood as defeated.

While encouraging public caution and restraint, the federal government has stated that more than 1,000 vaccine trials are taking place worldwide lately.

He announced that he was reading progress related to the allegations of a new vaccine, Sputnik-V, across Russia.

The president of the PTF presidential race organization on COVID-19 and the secretary of government of the SGF Federation, Boss Mustapha, on Thursday in a briefing of the running organization.

He said 13,844 of the 14,906 Nigerians evacuated, so they tested Covid-19 and only 684 tested positive.

The government also denounced the increase in the number of inflamed fitness workers, saying it had taken concrete steps to mitigate the trend.

However, the SGF, which announced that no deaths had been recorded on Wednesday, quickly admitted that the war is far from winning.

He said: “The PTF would like to point out, as we have done before, that fewer cases have been reported in the last two weeks. This should never be construed as a victory over the virus. There is still a serious war ahead of us as other people and as a country. Therefore, it is vital that we continue to build on our successes and do nothing to harm them.

“Our messages and consultations on threat communication and network participation have intensified to strengthen the point of awareness and compliance of the general population through the most effective means and platforms in general and in particular. We would like to call on all Nigerians to exercise caution and restraint at all times. However, I would like to point out that, according to reports from yesterday 12 August 2020, no deaths have been recorded.”

As of Thursday morning, 338,084 tests had been carried out. While there are 47,743 cases shown, 33,943 others have been released and 956 deaths have been reported.

Mustapha said: “Globally, the world continues to seek a vaccine with more than 1,000 ongoing trials and other reports of good luck levels.

“In particular, we take note of the announcement through the President of Russia about the breakthrough in the progression of a vaccine, even as we examine its progression. The successful fight against the pandemic will require a global effort and Nigeria will not be left behind every time progress is made. However, the suitability and protection of Nigerians will continue to be our priority to find a solution.

“For us in Nigeria, we will continue to be aimed at disseminating the use of the evasion strategies shown to disrupt the transmission of the virus and effective case control to treat and treat inflamed people.

“It would possibly be appealing to note that of the 14,906 evacuees who won this COVID-19 pandemic, almost 80% are young people who are pleased that only 684 have tested positive for coronavirus of the 13,844 analyzed so far. In the coming days, we expect to get more evacuees from other parts of the world. The national coordinator will expand this issue. »

Noting that Britain has entered recession, the SGF reminded Nigerians of the subsidized economic sustainability plan through a 2.6 trillion naira stimulus package to bring local economies, production and business sizes to life, adding a small circle of related businesses.

Health Minister Sen Olorunnimbe Mamora deplored the outbreak of infection for fitness workers, which the ministry had taken steps to prevent the trend.

“In the state of Abia, we have completed the 594 physical education of public and personal services on infection prevention and control. Lately we’re investigating a care-related infection at a gym in Kaduna state.

“Lessons learned will be used to improve service delivery. I inspire our fitness staff not to give up their guards because the pandemic is with us. Use your PPE properly and wisely. We have ensured that the PPE is available in all our fitness facilities. “

Mamora reiterated the government’s determination to 1% of the population across the country.

“To date, more than 70% of all tests have been conducted in the states, adding Lagos, Kano, FCT, Plateau, Oyo, Kaduna, Edo Ogun Rivers with 25% of the tests in Lagos alone. We will continue to paint with state governments to accelerate case-seeking and pattern collection activities. »

According to the minister, the pandemic affected other young people, explaining that on Wednesday, 46% of the positive cases in the country were young people between the ages of 21 and 40.

“So I’m going to call our other young men to take responsibility. Let’s make sure we stick to the recommendation to wear a mask properly, wash our hands and make sure of some respiratory hygiene,” he said.

The Honourable Emeka Nwajiuba, Minister of State for Education, said that when THE VET assesses all the knowledge before it, it will communicate its resolution on when to fully reopen higher education and other institutions.

He reiterated the call through some stakeholders for the ASUU Academic Staff Union to “grant a moratorium on strike action over the next 3 years so that Nigerian university formula can be rebuilt before further unrest.

“We are running with science and knowledge and when the country is in a position to reopen, I do not think the ASUU is unreasonable or illogical to resume. They have more than 10,000 teachers from nearly 65,000 teachers and I am almost convinced that they will know as well as we do that young people return to school whenever we are in a position,” he added.
