The Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC) has 221 new coronavirus infections (COVID-19) in the country.
The NCDC did this on its official Twitter account on Friday.
According to him, the news is shown in 18 states of the country.
The new infections raised the total number of cases to 56,956 in Nigeria.
The public fitness firm said Lagos had 59 instances, the number of instances, followed by Abia with 46 instances and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), 22.
Among others were; Rivers, 11, Bauchi, 7, Benue, Ekiti and Imo, 6 each, Kaduna, Kwara and Ondo, each, Ogun and Osun, 3 each, Bayelsa, Edo and Kano, 1 each.
The NCDC reported that 213 patients with COVID-19 had been effectively treated and discharged across the country, bringing the number of cases treated to 48,305.
He said the other people released on Friday come with a hundred controlled network recoveries in Oyo state in accordance with new case control guidelines.
Unfortunately, the fitness firm recorded an additional death, which raised the death toll to 1,094 in the country.
He noted that a Multisectoral National Emergency Operations Centre (NSC) activated at Level 3 had continued to coordinate the national reaction across the country.
The NCDC suggested Nigerians forget any symptoms, adding that a sudden loss of taste/smell, cough or fever may simply be COVID-19.
“Please dial 258-258 to get the COVID-19 self-assessment tool if you or someone you enjoyed has been exposed to COVID-19,” he says.
She warned that the threat of getting inflamed with COVID-19 on top when other people were not dressed in masks in public places.
“Use your mask well at all times. Adhere to all COVID-19 non-pharmaceutical preventive measures,” he suggested to Nigerians.
The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that because the people of the state of Edo are ready to vote for their candidates in the governor’s election on Saturday, September 19, the NCDC suggested that everyone adhere to the newly published COVID-19 guidelines.
It noted that relevant stakeholders would have to take measures to reduce the threat of exposure to COVID-19 in the election.
“Ensure that there are temperature and hand hygiene controls on the crusade grounds, in polling stations; Provide more polling stations or physical distance voting booths, with clearly marked floors to impose queue spacing.
“It is mandatory for everyone to wear the mask, blank polling stations, tables and other essential surfaces because those are the spaces where it is easy to contract the virus.
“Multiply handwashing problems or alcohol-based hand sanitizers, while voting station staff practice hand hygiene frequently.
