COVID-19: New vaccine trial site opens in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: Residents wishing to volunteer in Phase III trials for the inactivated coronavirus vaccine can now “enter” the registry and register.

A specially designed registration, screening and testing facility has been established at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC), announced G42 Healthcare and the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha). Assets will be open each and every day unless on Fridays from 8 a.m. At 8 p.m., Adding the Eid holidays.

The trials involve a vaccine developed through Sinopharm China National Biotec Group. The vaccine has already shown promising effects in its first two phases, generating antibodies when two doses were given 28 days apart.

Since the start of vaccine trials in Abu Dhabi on 16 July, more than 10,000 people have registered, totaling more than 5,000 in the first 24 hours.

G42 Healthcare, a personal synthetic intelligence and cloud computing company, manages the clinical trial procedure under the supervision of the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Health and in coordination with Seha.

“There has been an incredible reaction to volunteering and participating in the 4Humanity [vaccine test] program. This new DNAEC facility has been specially built with the highest criteria and will have some immediate response times in reaction to the overwhelming number of records already received. Lately we are reading the feasibility of establishing similar sites in other parts of the United Arab Emirates for the convenience of volunteers,” said Ashish Koshy, Managing Director of G42 Healthcare.

A highly qualified and experienced team of SEHA nurses, administrators, fitness professionals and volunteers is responsible for volunteers, managing the registration and selection process, and administering the inactivated vaccine.

People who have already registered online but have not yet received a follow-up call can also get benefits from the clinic without an appointment. They would possibly get a check-up at the site and the first vaccine, however, it should have been 3 days after receiving negative COVID-19 control. Assets will also be open only to Abu Dhabi residents.

4Humanity signaling has been installed in ADNEC to ensure that volunteers seamlessly locate the registration offices and are accompanied through the various stages of the testing process. The staff at Seha’s place will also help volunteers maintain proper social distance protocols during their visit.
