COVID-19: NCDC reports 137 new infections, a total of 63173 in Nigeria

A total of 137 new pandemic coronavirus infections (COVID-19) were reported in Nigeria on Tuesday to the Nigerian Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

The NCDC announced this in its verification on Tuesday.

The public fitness firm said the new infections total COVID -19 in the country to 63,173.

The fitness firm said there were 306 patients with COVID-19 who were effectively treated and discharged from isolation centers across the country in more than 24 hours.

“The 137 new ones are reported in 15 states and the CTF, As follows: Lagos-60, Abia-21 FCT-18, Rivers-13, Kaduna-5, Oyo-4, Edo-3, Delta-2, Imo-2, Kano-2, Ogun-2, Bauchi-1, Gombe-1, Nasarawa-1, Niger-1 and Osun-1,” he said.

The fitness firm said the total number of cases shown in the country is now 63,173, of which 59,634 were released.

However, he noted that the infection had killed another 1,151 people across the country.

The NCDC, which a multisectoral National Emergency Operations Center (NSC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate national reaction activities.

Meanwhile, the NCDC reported that a sudden loss of taste and smell with fever, headache or nasal discharge may simply be COVID-19.

“Please don’t forget those symptoms. Call your state hotline to schedule a test. State hotlines: covid19. ncdc. gov. ng/contact/,” he says.
