COVID-19: NCDC confirms 118 new infections in Nigeria

The number of others affected by the COVID-19 COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria reached 61,558, and the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed 118 new cases on Monday.

These infections were recorded in the states and territory of the federal capital.

The NCDC, which thus revealed its official Twitter account, also announced the release of 86 patients from the country’s isolation centers.

According to the knowledge received on the NCDC website, Lagos recorded the number of cases with 55, while Rivers had 26, Imo reported 12 cases and Osun showed 8 cases.

The states with new infections are Plateau, 6, FCT, 5, Kaduna, 4, Ogun, 3, Edo, 2 and Niger, 1.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reports that since the pandemic erupted in Lagos in February, more than 590,635 samples have been analyzed through the NCDC, of which 61,558 were positive.

NCDC reports that 56,697 instances and 1,125 deaths have been disclosed in 36 states and the territory of the federal capital.

Meanwhile, the firm said a face mask in a tangible way in which Nigerians can show others they were looking to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

He warned that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over and urged Nigerians to wear face masks.

“A used mask prevents drops from touching surfaces when coughing or sneezing,” the NCDC said. (NAN)
