MONTR? AL, August 30, 2020 / CNW Telbec / – To facilitate travel and ensure the protection of residents, Montreal announced on March 23 that resident-only and overdue street parking stickers would be considered valid until they are further done in all districts. The closure of Access Montreal’s offices due to the pandemic made it highly unlikely that parking labels would be renewed, so the city created an exceptional graceful era in which fines were not taken into account. Access Montreal offices reopened on July 13, more than a month ago. This transitional measure will end on Monday, August 31 at 11:59 p.m. Parking officers will be tolerant for an era of two weeks before officially starting to factor the fines. As of September 15, 2020, fines can be factored in case of violation of parking regulations.
In all districts, only others with a valid decal can park in resident-only parking areas. Without a sticker, you’ll be fined. As of September 1, 2020, it will be mandatory to download or renew your parking sticker if you wish to park in resident-only areas. To download, renew, or update a parking sticker, citizens can use the Access Montreal online pass or workplace in their district.
