Dubai: Worshippers in Kuwait were overwhelmed with relief and joy after performing Friday prayers at mosques for the first time since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.
The cabinet, several days ago, had legalized the resumption of prayers in mosques on the condition that the faithful respect the fitness precautions, justified to be inflamed by the virus, according to the Kuwaiti news agency.
Kuwait has taken the decision to lift the four-month ban on coronaviruses in Friday prayers after taking all measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
The resolution through the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Awqaf considers more than 1,000 mosques in all governorates, Under-Secretary Fareed Emadi said in a statement. Precautionary measures were taken to condition mosques, adding total disinfection, symptoms and measures to make some social distance among the faithful.
The gates of the mosque will open 30 minutes before the call to prayer and will close 15 minutes later with the Khutbah (sermon) and prayer no more than 15 minutes. The front and exit of the faithful will also be arranged with symptoms on the ground organizing the location of each faithful prayer.
