COVID-19: Kuwait registers 836 new cases, 4 deaths

Cairo: Kuwait has recorded 836 further cases of the novel coronavirus over the past 24 hours, taking the country’s infection tally to 54,894, the Kuwaiti news agency KUNA reported Sunday, citing a health official.

The newest are 549 Kuwaitis and 287 foreign residents, Ministry of Health spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al Sanad said at a press conference.

Four COVID-19 deaths raised the total number of deaths in Kuwait to 390, according to the official.

All new cases came into contact with inflamed Americans in the past or are being investigated for infection resources, Dr. Al Sanad said.

There are 151 patients receiving intensive care treatment, the official said.

The total number of viral checks in Kuwait has reached 433,336, so after 3,835 checks have been carried out in the last 24 hours, Dr. Al Sanad said.

The Ministry of Health reported that 649 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cures for the disease to 44,610 in Kuwait.
