COVID-19: Kuwait registers 638; total at 49,941

Cairo: Kuwait recorded 638 new cases of coronavirus in the more than 24 hours, bringing the country’s number of infections to 49941, Kuwaiti news firm KUNA, which mentioned a fitness ministry official, reported on Sunday.

The most recent cases are 463 Kuwaitis and foreign residents, said the spokesman for the ministry of fitness, Dr. Abdullah Al Sanad.

The total number of COVID-19 deaths in Kuwait has increased to 368 with 3 new deaths recorded today.

All new cases that have been contacted in the past to inflamed Americans or are being investigated by sources of infection, Dr. Al Sanad said in a daily update.

There are 157 patients receiving intensive care, the official said.

During this time, another 46 people have completed the mandatory institutional quarantine and will have to spend another 14 days in solitary confinement at home.

The total number of viral tests in Kuwait has reached 405,984, after 3,043 tests have been conducted in the last 24 hours, Dr. Al Sanad said.

The Ministry of Health also reported that 520 patients have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cures for the disease to 40,463 in Kuwait.
