Abu Dhabi: Plans to resume advertising flights at Kuwait International Airport from 1 August could charge the country thousands of passengers per day and sparked a debate on its extension until August 2021, Kuwaiti media reported.
The Kuwaiti cabinet approved a three-step plan to operate advertising flights to and from Kuwait from 1 August, with a capacity of 30%.
Kuwait suspended all advertisements and flights in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Al Rai said no country in the world had developed a long-term plan, adding that the Kuwaiti government had specified whether the stages of the announced plan would likely change.
The Kuwait Civil Aviation Authority has announced that in the first phase, the number of passengers will not exceed 10,000, according to the day. From phase two, which begins on February 1, 2021, the number of passengers will not exceed 20,000 according to the day. The third phase will have a constant or inconsistent match rate with one hundred.
On the way, the airport will only delight in the movement of passengers, which will not exceed 1.84 million, on 18,400 flights.
The average number of passengers departing and arriving through Kuwait Airport is consistent with the day in 2019, approximately 42,000, with passenger traffic of 15.5 million. This means that the six-month period of the first phase is expected to succeed on an average of 7.78 million passengers.
Under the terms of the first phase, Kuwait Airport will lose approximately 32,300 passengers according to the day, indicating that the volume of declining passenger traffic will succeed by 5.94 million in the first six months of inconsistency.
As for the movement of aircraft, in the first phase, the number of flights will be reduced to less than a third, meaning that Kuwait Airport will lose about 235 flights consistent with the day, compared to the 2019 fares.
