Six new instances of COVID-19 (29) were detected tonight, bringing the total number of instances in the country to 2,995.
Four arrivals from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and 01 from Lebanon and the United Kingdom tested positive for the virus, the Government’s Information Department confirmed.
The epidemiology unit reports that 134 active instances are lately in medical care in hospitals.
Meanwhile, the number of cures for the disease in Sri Lanka has increased to 2,849, while 07 patients were discharged from HDI, Welikanda and Minuwangoda hospitals before the day.
Sri Lanka has witnessed 12 deaths from the virus outbreak.
