New Delhi: Confirmed cases of coronavirus in India have reached 2.5 million with a maximum of 65,002 in a day in the last 24 hours.
India is the United States and Brazil in the number of cases.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Health reported 996 more deaths for a total of 49,036.
The average number of reported cases was higher, from around 15,000 in the first week of July to more than 50,000 in early August.
The Ministry of Health said construction shows the scope of the tests with 800,000 conducted in a day without getting married, but experts say India wants to continue with more vigour.
India’s two-month blockade, imposed nationwide at the end of March, kept infections low, but it has softened and is now widely implemented in high-risk areas.New cases higher after India reopened outlets and production and allowed thousands of migrant staff to return home from coronavirus-affected areas.
The subway and cinemas remain closed.
