COVID-19 infections in Oman, increasing deaths

Cairo: Oman recorded on Wednesday 1660 instances of the new coronavirus, a build-up of 153 instances of the previous day’s count, while the sultanate struggled to prevent highly contagious disease.

The most recent raises the total number of infections in the country to 71,547, Oman’s onCUTTER, ONA, which mentions the Ministry of Fitness, reported.

Newly diagnosed involve 1,364 Omanis and 296 foreign residents, the ministry said.

Twelve new deaths by COVID-19, the total number of deaths in Oman to 349.

The country’s overall recovery from the disease increased through 1,314 to 47,922, to the ministry.

In recent weeks, Oman has noticed a buildup of viral infections, leading the government to tighten preventive measures.

Oman will impose a complete blockade on its governorates for two weeks, from 25 July to 8 August.

During this period, the motion of other persons will be prohibited and all public spaces will be closed from 7pm to 6am daily. The closure includes the party of Eid Al Adha. Under the most recent restrictions, any bureaucracy of meetings, adding Eid prayers, greetings and classic markets is prohibited.
