Muscat: Travel agents in Oman have recently registered expats stranded outside the country who have valid resident visas and wish to return to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Repatriation and chartered aircraft carrying Indian expats outside Oman now bring back citizens with valid Omani citizens who are stranded in India. They must have a valid permit from the Oman Ministry of Foreign Affairs to return to Oman.
Many Indians running in Oman were in their home countries when airports closed due to COVID-19 and have been stranded there ever since.
A spokesman for one of the agencies that facilitated the return said: “At first, we ask those who wish to return to verify their touch data and their port of embarkation in India, stating that the main requirement is a valid resident of Oman card. Array Based on the request for flights to Oman, passenger lists will be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for authorization, after which those wishing to return may book their tickets electronically, either independently or through agencies. “
Depending on the number of passengers, the company will book them an electronic flight that will be taken as soon as you can imagine in the city of your choice. The Indian Embassy in Oman has provided extensive assistance to Indian citizens in this regard, as well as to network clubs.
Suhail Khan, a member of the Indian Social Club’s control committee, says the efforts of the Indian Embassy in Oman and the cooperation of the Oman Foreign Affairs Minischeck deserve to be praised for the Return of Indians with resident cards to Oman. “We only help ensure that the right message is delivered to those affected and we are able to help those in need with positive data and direction. We inspire others to review all tactics and share their experiences. Suhail told Gulf News.
“The Deccan Wing recently helped bring back 37 cardholders residing in Oman from Hyderabad. Eleven others from Chennai and 15 from Mumbai also arrived in Oman, thanks to the concerted efforts of the Indian Embassy in Oman. While passengers from Mumbai and Chennai were housed on Vande Bharat flights, those from Hyderabad flew on the Salam Air flight, returning from a special flight. We also thank our Omani friend and a renowned Omanist personality, Mohammed Zaheeruddin, who has helped us enormously to unite families,” Suhail Khan said.
Another key figure who has helped many Indians when necessary is Prime Minister Jabir, founder of the Kerala wing of the Indian Social Club. He told Gulf News that he was helping those who were actively hired in Oman who had gone on vacation to Kerala and have now been stranded there for more than five months and need to return to Oman.
