India has reported more than 48,000 new cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and more than 700 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the knowledge of the EU’s 19th fitness minister on Sunday, five days before the end of Unlock 2.0.
Unlock 2.0, in which the government relaxed some restrictions after the 68-day hard lock, will end on July 31. It’s time for a three-phase plan to lift restrictions to prevent the spread of infection.
The means is to allow schools to reopen in the next phase of easing restrictions expected next week, according to senior officials interested in the talks.
Officials added that the underground train is unlikely to start soon, while gyms and pools may also remain off limits. Large congregations may also remain forbidden.

According to the Ministry of Health’s Covid-19 tracker, the country reported 48,661 and 705 deaths between Saturday and Sunday, bringing the total to 1,385,522.
The number of cures has risen to 885,576, while another 36,145 people have cured of viral diseases in more than 24 hours, according to data from the Ministry of Health. The gap between the number of active instances by 467,882 and those recovered was widened to 417,694.

The recovery now stands at 63.91%.
The government said Saturday that about 420,000 Covid-19 tests were conducted in India in one day, nearly double the test capacity of 220,000 in early July.
According to the knowledge of the EU Ministry of Health, up to 16 million tests have been carried out in India so far.
The accumulation led India’s million-consistent tests to 11,485, according to the data. This is much less than in the United States with 158,981 tests consistent with millions and about 23,094 in Brazil. The United States and Brazil are the two countries hardest hit by the pandemic.
The Centre urged EU states and territories to “test, track and treat” strategy.
“Aggressive testing would likely lead to a larger number of positive daily cases initially, but in the end they would lead to a decrease as demonstrated after the EU government’s DIRECTED efforts in the NCT [National Capital Territory] in Delhi,” he said in a press release.
The number of infections approached 16 million and death toll 643821 worldwide, according to The Coronavirus Tracking at Johns Hopkins University.
