New Delhi: India recorded on Monday the one-day peak of nearly 50,000 (49931) new cases of new coronavirus, bringing the total to more than 1435,000 cases, while with 708 new deaths, the total number of deaths exceeded 32771, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said.
According to the most recent data, the total number of cases in India reached 1,435,453, of which 32,771 died and 917,568 others recovered. The total number of active instances is 485,114. The recovery rate advanced further to 63.92%.
As the third most affected country, India now adds 100,000 cases in less than 3 days. By Monday, the country had crossed the 1.1 million mark and in seven days had added 300,000 more instances. Maharashtra remained the most affected state after a one-day spike in 9431 cases, bringing the state total to 375,799, of which 13,656 others died from fatal disease.
Maharashtra is followed through Tamil Nadu (213,723), Delhi (130,606), Karnataka (96,141) and Andhra Pradesh (96,298). The nation’s capital peaked in a day of 1,075 cases totaling more than 1.3 lakh, of which 11,904 were active cases, with another 3,827 people killed and 1,14875 cured and released.
The STATES and Union Territories that have registered fewer than 1,000 are the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (324), Dadra and Nagar Haveli (914), Chandigarh (887), Mizoram (361), Meghalaya (702) and Sikkim (545).
Globally, the total number of International Covid-19 instances has exceeded 16.1 million, while deaths have increased to more than 647,000, according to Johns Hopkins University. As of Monday morning, the total number of instances was 16,199,796, while the deaths were 647,910, revealed by the University Center for Science and Systems Engineering (CSSE) in its last update.
The United States accounted for the number of infections and deaths worldwide, with 4,233,764 and 146,934, respectively, according to the CSSE.
