COVID-19: India 89,706 new cases; the death toll rises to 73,890 with 1,115 dead

With 89706 infections reported in one day, the COVID-19 count in India exceeded 43 lakh, while so far 33,98,844 people have recovered from the disease, which raised the national healing rate to 77. 77% on Wednesday, according to knowledge shared through the Ministry of Health union.

According to the Medical Research Council of India (ICMR), a cumulative total of 5,18,04,677 samples as of September 8, with 11,54,549 samples on Tuesday.

Of the 1115 new deaths, 380 are from Maharashtra, 146 from Karnataka, 87 Tamil Nadu, 73 Andhra Pradesh, 71 Uttar Pradesh, 67 Punjab, 57 West Bengal, 25 Haryana, 20 Madhya Pradesh, 19 Delhi, 14 Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand, thirteen from Gujarat, Odisha, Kerala and Rajasthan.

Twelve deaths were reported in Chhattisgarh, Pondicherry and Uttarakhand, 11 in Goa, 10 in Telangana, nine in Tripura, 8 in Assam, five in Himachal Pradesh, 4 in Bihar and Chandigarh, two in Sikkim, while in Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur a death was recorded.

Out of a total of 73,890 deaths, Maharashtra reported 27,407, followed by 8,012 in Tamil Nadu, 6,680 in Karnataka, 4,618 in Delhi, 4,560 in Andhra Pradesh, 4,047 in Uttar Pradesh, 3,677 in West Bengal, 3,133 in Gujarat and 1,90 in Punjab.

So far, another 1609 people have died from COVID-19 in Madhya Pradesh, 1164 in Rajasthan, 916 in Telangana, 854 in Haryana, 815 in Jammu and Kashmir, 765 in Bihar, 569 in Odisha, 496 in Jharkhand, 407 in Chhattisgarh, 378 in Assam, 372 in Kerala and 360 in Uhandraktta.

Pondicherry recorded 337 deaths, Goa 256, Tripura 161, Chandigarh 78, Himachal Pradesh 60, Andaman Islands and Nicobar 50, Manipur 39, Ladakh 35, Meghalaya 17, Nagaland 10, Arunachal Pradesh nine, Sikkim seven and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu two.

The Ministry of Health indicated that more than 70 agree with percent of deaths due to comorbidities.
