COVID-19 in Saskatchewan: thirteen new cases, five recoveries reported on Friday

The province announced on Friday 13 new instances of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, the largest accumulation in a day since August 16.

Seven new cases occurred in the east-central region, 4 in the Saskatoon area, one in the northeast and one in the Regina area.

The province now has 1,688 known instances and another 1,598 people have recovered. Sixty-six instances are still active in the province.

Two other people are hospitalized in Saskatoon.

The province reported that 19 of the 66 active instances were in “networked living environments”. Of the known instances, 841 are network contacts, 507 have no known exposure, 257 are travelers and are the subject of public aptitude research.

On Thursday, 1,683 checks were carried out in the province. September 10 also marked the opening of a driving control in Saskatoon.
