New Delhi: The Centre on Tuesday approved the charge of Bharat Biotech’s COVID-19 nasal vaccine, iNCOVACC, which will be used as booster doses for those over 18, at Rs 800 for personal hospitals and Rs 325 for government hospitals.
The iNCOVACC vaccine will be released in the fourth week of January.
The Union Health Ministry said those who took Covishield and Covaxin can take the nasal vaccine as a varied booster dose.
iNCOVACC has been approved by the Indian government and will be used as a heterologous booster dose for other people over the age of 18.
The vaccine will be available in private hospitals.
The world’s first intranasal vaccine, iNCOVACC, has won approval for the number one series and heterologous booster. This is the world’s first intranasal COVID vaccine to gain approval for the number one 2-dose regimen and heterologous booster dose.
The iNCOVACC vaccine has in the past obtained emergency limited-use approval for those 18 years and older for a number one 2-dose program. Phase III trials of the vaccine for protection and immunogenicity were conducted in 3100 subjects at 14 trial sites across India.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya is scheduled to hold a virtual assembly with state fitness ministers on COVID-19 and preparedness at 3 p. m. on Tuesday, the appeals said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level assembly on Monday to assess the prestige and preparedness of the public health response to COVID-19 and under pressure the need for enhanced surveillance with a focus on genome sequencing and more advanced testing.
