The Covid-19 count in India exceeded 35 lakh, just one week after crossing the 30 lakh mark, with a one-day record of 78761 cases, while recoveries rose to 2713933 on Sunday, according to the knowledge of the Union’s Ministry of Health.
The total number of coronavirus cases increased to 35,42,733, while the number of deaths increased to 63,498 and another 948 people succumbed to the disease within 24 hours, according to updated knowledge at 8 a. m.
The cure rate increased to 76. 61%, while the covid-19 case rate was further reduced to 1. 79%.
There are 7,65,302 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country, representing 21. 60 of the total number of cases, according to the data.
Cases of Covid-19 in India increased from 20 to 30 lakh in days and from 10 to 20 lakh in 21 days.
It took 110 days for Covid-19 instances in the country to succeed in a lakh, while only 59 more days surpassed the 10 lakh post.
India’s account for Covid-19 reached the 20 lakh mark on August 7 and surpassed 30 lakh on August 23.
According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 414,61,636 samples were up to 29 August, with 10,55,027 samples on Saturday.
Of the 948 new deaths, 328 are from Maharashtra, 115 from Karnataka, 87 from Tamil Nadu, 82 Andhra Pradesh, 62 Uttar Pradesh, 53 West Bengal, 41 Punjab, 22 Madhya Pradesh, 16 Jharkhand, 15 Delhi, 14 Odisha, thirteen Gujarat and Rajasthan, 12 Pondicherry, 11 Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand.
Ten deaths were reported in Telangana, nine in Haryana, seven in Jammu and Kashmir, six in Kerala, 4 in Ladakh and Tripura, 3 in Assam, Goa and Bihar, two in Theaman and Nicobar Islands, while Himachal Pradesh and Manipur recorded a death.
Out of a total of 63,498 deaths, Maharashtra reported 24,103 followed by 7,137 in Tamil Nadu, 5,483 in Karnataka, 4,404 in Delhi, 3,796 in Andhra Pradesh, 3,356 in Uttar Pradesh, 3,126 in West Bengal, 2,989 in Gujarat and 1,348 in Punjab.
So far, another 1345 people have died from Covid-19 in Madhya Pradesh, 1030 in Rajasthan, 818 in Telangana, 685 in Jammu and Kashmir, 670 in Haryana, 561 in Bihar, 470 in Odisha, 397 in Jharkhand, 289 in Assam, 280 in Kerala, 262 in Chhattisgarh and 250 in Uhandraktta.
Pondicherry recorded 211 deaths, Goa 178, Tripura 98, Chandigarh 45, Andaman Islands and Nicobar 44, Himachal Pradesh 34, Ladakh 32, Manipur 28, Meghalaya 10, Nagaland nine, Arunachal Pradesh five, Sikkim 3 and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu two.
The Ministry of Health noted that more than 70% of deaths are due to comorities.
“Our figures are being reconciled with the Medical Research Council of India (ICMR),” the ministry said on its website, adding that the distribution of figures across the state is a matter of verification and reconciliation.
