Delta Governor Ifeanyi Okowa attributed sustained efforts to deliver projects in the state despite the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on global economies, prudent fiscal plans, and discipline.
Okowa spoke shortly after examining the meaning of the paintings in Section C of the dualization of the Ughelli-Asaba roads and the DBS and Isho roads, Ubulu-Uku, a region of the local government of South Aniocha.
He said he was happy with the speed of the contractors’ paints, adding that the Ughelli-Asaba highway is of wonderful economic importance to the state due to its accessibility to Warri Harbour and Onitsha Market.
According to the governor, once completed, management will inspire more advertising activity in the state, as more investors will send their imports from Warri’s ports to the Onitsha market.
He said the state government was able to keep contractors there despite the adverse effects of the pandemic due to the budget field and the readjustment of paint plans with contractors.
“We know that we have currency demand situations around the world and Nigeria and Delta are no exception, yet we have spoken to our subcontractors so they don’t move.
“What we are doing now is paying incrementally because we have a well-developed program and, in all fairness for entrepreneurs, they cooperate with us.We don’t need you to leave because that will result in job losses,” he said.
Paul Osuyi, governor of the Asaba Delta, Ifeanyi Okowa, attributed sustained efforts to our projects at theArray.
