Kuwait: The Cabinet of Ministers has added 3 new countries to the list of banned countries in Kuwait, Al Qabas reported.
France, Argentina and Yemen are the last countries added to the ban, bringing the total to 34 since Singapore was removed from the list.
A government source told Al Qabas that the resolution had been taken because there was an accumulation of COVID-19 cases in the country.
The resolution does not recognize nationality, but is based on the fact that a user has traveled or visited a “high risk” country. Nationals of banned countries would possibly enter Kuwait, but will have to be quarantined for 14 days in an enduring country before arriving in Kuwait.
Upon arrival, all passengers, citizens and residents, must complete a PCR check up to 96 hours before arriving in Kuwait. Additionally, all travelers arriving in Kuwait must be quarantined for 14 days from the day of arrival.
On 1 August, the Directorate-General for Civil Aviation announced that passengers from 31 “high-risk” countries cannot enter Kuwait. The announcement was made a few hours after the reopening of Kuwait International Airport at 30% of its capacity. As a result of the announcement, 10,000 airfare was cancelled.
