Speaking to ANI on Wednesday, Bijay Kumar Mohapatra, director of health services, said: “Five new (COVID) cases were detected today, bringing the total number of active cases to 27. We perform qualitative and symptomatic testing.
“We are also carrying out surveillance and genome sequencing of patients with positive cases. The treatment sites and other rules defined above are in effect statewide. There’s no need to panic,” Mohapatra added.
“Most active cases are treated at home. Our monitoring, testing, and preparation of hospitals for treatment have never stopped since the COVID outbreak. We have our eyes open and surveillance is ongoing,” said Odisha’s fitness director.
Meanwhile, the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) under the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported five deaths due to COVID in the last 24 hours in the country.
