COVID-19: FG to complete Nigeria evacuation on August 25 – PTF

The federal government has announced that the evacuation of Nigerians from the diaspora following the COVID-19 pandemic will end on 25 August 2020.

This was revealed through the president of the presidential organization and secretary of the federation’s government, Mr. Boss Mustapha, at the daily PTF briefing in Abuja on Monday.

The United States and Egypt have expressed the repatriation of Nigerians convicted, pardoned and released to those countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Mustapha said: “Several countries have expressed their goal of repatriating convicted Nigerians, pardoned and probation to those countries.

“These come with the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and the United States.In the midst of our national reaction to COVID-19, all applicable government agencies are taking multisectoral measures to ensure that the procedure continues to comply with appropriate foreign protocols in accordance with bilateral agreements Agreements.

“For the sake of clarity, this will have to be prominent on general evacuation flights and we would like to say that all evacuation flights will end on August 25, 2020, after which airports will have enough time to prepare for reopening.”

It also valued subnational efforts to curb COVID-19.

“I take this opportunity to thank the subnational degrees of government for their efforts to promote threat communication and network engagement strategy.

“PTFs are pleased to see that their appropriation of the strategy has manifested itself in many state pattern collection centers in all their local government spaces, while those who have not already done so are also executing it.
