The Hong Kong government’s resolution comes after 50 passengers on two Vistara flights tested positive for Covid-19 upon arrival this month. Earlier on Sunday, the Hong Kong government announced the suspension of all Vistara flights in the Mumbai-Hong Kong direction until May 2. As of Sunday, a total of four seven passengers traveling on Vistara’s Delhi-Hong Kong flight on April 4 tested positive for COVID-19 in Hong Kong. Vistara’s Delhi-Hong Kong flights were banned from April 6 to April 19.
Vistara did not respond to PTI’s request for comment. A record single-day accumulation of 2,61,500 coronavirus infections has lifted the number of cases in India to 1,47,88,109, while active cases have surpassed the 18 lakh mark, according to Union Health Ministry data updated on Sunday.
