COVID-19 detected at federal correctional facilities in Saskatchewan.

Correctional Service Canada says 4 inmates at Okimaw Ohci Healing Lodge have been tested for COVID-19.

In a press release Tuesday, CSC said the number of active instances among reported inmates is based on immediate testing or PCR testing, but the number will likely be replaced as more testing is done and lab-confirmed effects become available.

As of October 24, there were active instances in CSC-administered correctional services in Saskatchewan.

There are two active case inmates at the Willow Cree Healing Center, two medium-security inmates at Saskatchewan Penitentiary, and one active case inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Center.

CSC updates numbers weekly and publishes data online. The Saskatchewan provincial government has stopped releasing this data about its correctional facilities.

Since the start of the pandemic, 556 federal inmates have been tested for COVID-19, 545 have recovered, and two deaths have been reported.
