COVID-19 contagion analysis report

The number of COVID-19 infections in China peaked around Dec. 22, with a peak of nearly 7 million new cases on that day, the official from China’s Center for Disease Control and Prevention said in a report on the national epidemic situation released. Visits to the fever clinic peaked at 2. 87 million on Dec. 23.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 infections in hospitals peaked at 4273 on Jan. 4, then continued to fall, falling to 896 on Jan. 23, a 79 percent drop, the center said.
