New coronavirus cases surged in Utah in the week ending Sunday, with an increase of 13. 3 as 7789 cases were reported. Last week there were 6872 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19.
Utah ranked 26th among the states where the coronavirus spread the fastest, according to a study by Johns Hopkins University’s USA TODAY knowledge network.
Over the past week, coronavirus cases in the U. S. have been reported. The U. S. has 29 more than last week, with 947,862 cases reported. With 0. 96 of the country’s population, Utah recorded 0. 82 of the nation’s cases last week. Nationwide, 42 states had more cases in the week beyond than the week beyond.
The July 4 holiday interrupted who checked, when other people were checked, and when the effects of the test and deaths were reported. This can particularly skew comparisons from week to week.

In Utah, the worst weekly outbreaks per user occurred in San Juan County with 340 cases per 100,000 per week; Tooele County with 313; and Salt Lake County with 272. The Centers for Disease Control says the highest levels of network transmission start at 100 instances per 100,000 per week.
The addition of the largest number of new instances in all of Salt Lake County, with 3162 instances; Utah County, with 1284 instances; and Davis County, with 950. The number of weekly instances increased in six counties compared to last week. Last week’s worst speed increases occurred in Salt Lake, Utah and Davis counties.

In Utah, another 22 people were reported to have died from COVID-19 in the week ending Sunday. Last week, thirteen other people died.
A total of 997,556 people in Utah have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and another 4,869 people have died from the disease, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. In the United States, 89,542,107 more people tested positive and 1,023,799 others died.
