MANILA, Philippines – The Ministry of Health (DOH) recorded 6,216 more coronavirus disease infections (COVID-19) on Friday, bringing the Philippines total to 153,660.
Metro Manila has the number of new infections with 3848, followed by Laguna with 302 new cases, Rizal with 242 infections, Cavite with 240 and Bulacan with 178.
But the number of COVID-19 deaths in the country increased to 2,442 after the DOH recorded new deaths.
The DOH noted that 81 duplicates were disposed of, of which 4 instances recovered were removed from the total number of instances.
“There is also a recovered case that was considered negative and removed from the total number of cases,” the DOH said of the most recent data. “We also updated the physical fitness prestige of 15 cases that had in the past been reported as cured, but after final validation, there were 4 deaths and 11 active cases.” [C.A]
