COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad breach 9,100-mark with 135 new infections

MANILA, Philippines – The number of cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) among Filipinos abroad exceeded 9100 after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported new infections on Monday.

Of these cases, 3,132 patients remain under treatment while 5,360 have recovered from the disease, including 39 new recoveries.

“Today’s figures also show that two countries in the African region have been added to the list, bringing to 67 the total number of countries/regions with COVID-19 cases among Filipinos,” the branch said.

In the Philippines, fitness officials reported that 69,898 showed cases of COVID-19. Of these, 23,072 have recovered and 1,835 have died from the disease.

Worldwide, more than 14 million people have become inflamed with the new coronavirus, originally from the city of Wuhan, Hubei Province, which expired last year. More than 597,000 people have died from the disease worldwide. [C.A]
