COVID-19 case shown in the assignment of dam C for the time being

BC Hydro has shown a new case of COVID-19 in the C Site Dam field of work near Fort St. John.

The employee was on site the week of September 7 and was staying in the ward at the site, but did not leave the camp or interact with the local community, according to the state company.

“While in and in the ward, the worker followed all the guidelines of the prescribed fitness protocol, adding dressed in a mask and physical distance,” BC Hydro said in a bulletin.

On his return from camp, the employee learned that he had been exposed to the virus before going to the dam project, BC Hydro said.

The employee developed symptoms and was tested for the virus on September 15. Lately they are self-insulating in the Lower Continent, the company added.

“Under the direction of the fitness officers, all tactile searches have been carried out. Health officials asked a small number of others to self-control, report any symptoms, and strictly respect physical distance and mask wearing while running on site. “BC Hydro said.

“Given the precautions taken through the employee on the site, the threat of transmission is low. “

This is the time this summer when a megaproject has tested positive for COVID-19.

BC Hydro revealed in July that an employee had been estranged and tested positive after being exposed in Alberta.

The state-based company says “extensive” measures are being taken to map the dam to curb the imaginable transmission of the virus.
