Dubai: What regulations do emirate citizens comply with if they land at an airport in some other emirate of the United Arab Emirates? That was the question posed through a Gulf News reader.
He wrote, asking, “I’d like to ask Gulf News to explain to me some facts I want: I’ve been out of the United Arab Emirates for seven months and I want to get back to work. The challenge is that I am on an Abu Dhabi visa and my flight arrives at Dubai International Airport. Is it imaginable to arrive in Dubai or do you deserve me to arrive at Abu Dhabi airport because I hear that the regulations have changed, could you let me know?
According to the most recent rules published through the Dubai Airports (DXB) www. dubaiairports. ae online page, there are no restrictions on UAE citizens who have visas issued through non-Dubai emirates and arriving at the airport would require approval from the Federal Authority. Identity and Citizenship (ICA).
According to the ICA, citizens with a valid visa issued through the ICA can verify access or re-access to the UAE by entering their passport number, which has a valid permit, on this site: uaeaccess. ica. gov. ae
On 10 July 2020, the cabinet of the United Arab Emirates approved several adjustments to uaE visa and identification rules, which became the peak of COVID-19, and announced the resumption of normality in the functions of the ACI. According to the amendments, the IIC would grant to expats citizens who are outdoors in the United Arab Emirates and whose apartment visa expired after 1 March 2020, or who have been outdoors in the United Arab Emirates for more than six months, an express era to return to the United Arab Emirates from the date of opening airspace between the United Arab Emirates and the country of their existing apartment. This was the one we would decide through the ICA. By applying for approval on the ICA website, citizens can check if they are allowed to return.
GDRFA, which has problems with Dubai visas, also showed that citizens who have been outdoors in the United Arab Emirates for more than six months can return after seeking GDRFA approval.
The latest COVID-19 updates posted on the Dubai Airports (DXB) website on October 19 provide the following rules to be followed by UAE citizens:
All UAE citizens with valid apartment visas must complete a COVID-19 RT-PCR (reverse transcription polymerasis chain reaction) check before arriving at DXB, no more than 96 hours before the scheduled departure time, at an officially identified control center location.
UAE citizens are exempt from this requirement and will be exempt upon arrival.
The negative result of the COVID-19 PCR verification must be presented as a certificate issued through the traveler upon arrival at DXB. The certificate must be in English or Arabic only. No handwritten certificate will be permitted.
All citizens of Dubai must download the approval of the Directorate-General for Residence and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) before returning to DXB.
Holders of residence visas from other emirates must download ICA approvals before returning to DXB.
• Children under the age of 12 and young people with moderate to severe disabilities are exempt from PCR requirements.
Upon arrival at DXB, UAE citizens and nationals must download and log in to the COVID-19 DXB Smart app.
Citizens of the United Arab Emirates and citizens leaving DXB are requested to meet the needs of their final destination, as some would possibly require an additional negative COVID-19 PCR verification certificate before leaving DXB.
On October 13, Air Arabia, based in Sharjah, said citizens of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain should download a green sign from the Federal Identity and Citizenship Authority (ICA).
Passengers with an apartment visa issued through Abu Dhabi or Al Ain must stop on the ICA online page to access the United Arab Emirates in order to determine their access status.
