Cairo: Bahrain has announced that it will reopen gyms, playgrounds and swimming pools next month as part of a plan to gradually return to general life amid precautions to stop the spread of the new coronavirus.

A state coordination committee headed by Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa said the facility will reopen from August 6.

This step follows the recommendations of a national medical working group on COVID-19. The adequacy measures to be observed for re-operation shall be announced at a later date.

Bahrain has reported 37,996 cases of coronavirus and 136 similar deaths.

Bahrain’s national team for taking on COVID-19 suggested that others continue to follow precautions against the highly infectious disease and avoid mass meetings on the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday. Specifically, the team discouraged the exchange of visits, basically between families, the Eid holidays and settle for greetings through social networks.

The team also reminded the public of the increased occurrence of infection in the kingdom after Eid Al Fitr, held in May, and blamed this for non-compliance with precautions opposed to COVID-19.
