COVID-19: Bahrain denies expat return requests

Cairo: Bahrain has denied reports that it has allowed the return of foreign nationals still stranded abroad due to restrictions caused by the spread of coronavirus.

The Ministry of the Interior’s Nationality, Passports and Residence (NPRA) cases were dismissed as un baseless reports circulating on social media about the return of stranded migrant workers. with past-announced measures that are in place lately,” NPRA said.

Earlier this month, Bahrain said it had allowed access to citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council, with the exception of Qataris, e-visa holders and visa-eligible passengers upon arrival.

All travelers must perform a PCR check for the new coronavirus upon arrival and on their own, and must also be isolated until the effects are published and negative.

Foreigners make up more than part of Bahrain’s total population, or 1. 7 million.
