COVID-19: arrest of Oman police for illegally collecting on a farm

Cairo: Oman police arrested an organization of others for accumulating on a farm and violating legislation for the spread of coronavirus, Oman Royal Police (ROP) said.

The criminals, arrested in Al Dakhiliyah governorate, are accused of violating the law of an ideal state committee responsible for combating COVID-19, the ROP added.

“Legal proceedings will be initiated against them,” the ROP said on Twitter, as well as posting a photo of the offenders.

Oman has shown a total of 95,907 cases of viruses and 885 similar deaths. In recent weeks, Oman has eased several virus-like restrictions, but the ban on giant gatherings remains.

Illegal meetings in the sultanate are a punishable crime with a fine of up to 1,500 OMR.
