Members of the Amazonian tribe in Ecuador have released six other people who kidnapped to call for the release of the framework of a leader killed through the coronavirus, the government announced Saturday.
Two policemen, two infantrymen and two civilians were taken captive through the natives on Thursday in the village of Kumay, near the Peruvian border.

Police said on Twitter that a special team conducted a “process of exhumation and identification” of the chief’s body on Saturday, which was transported by the government to Kumay.
Ecuador is one of the Latin American countries most affected by the pandemic, with more than 61,000 cases, around 4,800 deaths.
