COVID-19: Air Arabia passengers from 7 countries will have to give a negative 72-hour PCR report

Sharjah: Passengers arriving at Sharjah International Airport from seven countries are now required to produce a negative COVID-19 PCR test result, not older than 72 hours prior to departure, Air Arabia has said.

“Passengers arriving at Sharjah International Airport from the indicated countries must present a negative PCR verification certificate issued through a legal laboratory (72 hours) before boarding flights,” the airline said in the new rules issued for passengers returning to the UAE.

India, Egypt, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sudan and Nepal are the indexed countries for this requirement.

When contacted, the airline showed the new requirement to Gulf News.

“In general, domestic carriers in the UAE adhere to government rules. At the moment, we have confirmation of those procedures,” said a public official who verified the data with the airline.

Meanwhile, Emirates has added two other countries from which passengers send a negative PCR check no more than 96 hours before their flight to Dubai. Nigeria and Sudan have been added to the list of 10 other destinations covered by the new regulation, according to an update on the airline’s website.

These countries are: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Iran, Pakistan, Philippines, Russian Federation, Tanzania and the United States: Dallas Fort Worth (DFW), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO), adding passengers from California, Florida and Texas who connect with an Emirates flight from any airport in the world to DubaiArray the airline on its website.
