COVID-19: 200,000 expats lose their job in Oman

Dubai: More than 222,300 expats running in the public, staff and family circle sectors have been dismissed this year, of which 10,700 worked in government, 181,200 in the personal sector and 30,400 in the family circle sector, local media reported. National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The general expatriate labour force in the Sultanate has fallen by 14. 3%, the public sector fell by 19. 9%, the personal sector by 14. 9% and by 10. 4% in the family circle sector.

Figures published through the NCSI revealed that most of those ignored were Bangladeshi, followed by Indians and Pakistanis.
