XENIA: Greene County has noticed a slight increase in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations over the past week and, as a result, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has designated the county as a midpoint in its COVID-19 community point. structure.
The COVID-19 Community Levels Framework is a tool to help communities with the latest evidence-based preventive measures. Levels can be low, medium or high and are decided through finding hospital beds used, hospital admissions and the total number. of new COVID-19 cases in one area.
According to the CDC, the weekly measurements used up to the point of transmission were:
– Case consistent with 100,000 inhabitants in 76. 36.
– New COVID-19 admissions consistent with 100,000 to 11. 5%
– Staffed hospital beds used by COVID patients shown at 19:2. 1%.
The Greene County Department of Public Health urges citizens to take precautions for themselves and others from COVID-19 based on the COVID-19 network level.
When designating a county at a CDC midpoint, the following moves are recommended:
— Stay up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccines.
Get tested if you have symptoms and if you are sick, stay away from others.
— Wear a mask if you have symptoms, test positive, or expose someone with COVID-19. Wear a mask on public transport. You can choose to wear a mask at all times as an extra precaution for yourself and others.
— If you are under the greatest threat of a serious illness, wear a mask in public places and take extra precautions.
Greene County Public Health, along with state and federal partners, will continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic situation and make revised recommendations if situations warrant.
