SAN DIEGO (KUSI) – County fitness officials have opened a new COVID-19 check on the California State University campus in San Marcos. CSU’s unansated consultation is just the time-check facility of its kind in the county.
Unlike county-operated driving service sites elsewhere, non-appointment testing requires advance appointments.
Ryan Clabow, who works for the county’s Department of Health and Human Services, said about 70 others were already queuing when the check center was first opened this morning. Although the location is convenient for the college community, any member of the general public can take the COVID-19 check loose.
Rebecca Jones, mayor of San Marcos, said, “I think it’s vital for us to make sure our tests are broad and not just headed for the south of the county, because we want to make sure we keep other people healthy.”
Ryan Gagliano, a young baseball coach, to take a check as a precaution on the recommendation of a senior coach.
“It’s super easy. There’s no line or anything like that. I’m in and out of here in about 20 minutes,” Gagliano said.
The no-appointment registration center is open seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The county says the effects will occur in five business days.
