Called Lunar-Cov19, the vaccine is being developed through Duke-NUS School of Medicine and US pharmaceutical company Arcturus Therapeutics, the Straits Times reported.
Doctors and researchers are now reviewing those that have been pushed forward to be compatible with the trial, which is expected to last until October.
The SingHealth Experimental Medicine Unit administers the vaccine trial.
Associate Professor Jenny Low, assistant director and scientist for the SingHealth unit, told the Straits Times saturday that more than 250 volunteers attended the trial.
Approximately one hundred other people will participate in the trial. Diversity of volunteers in ages 20 to 50 years.
“Because the trial is open to volunteers between the ages of 21 and 80, we remain for more participants, especially those of the elderly,” he said.
Meanwhile, Singapore reported new cases of coronavirus on Sunday, bringing the country’s total to 55104.
