A liquid oxygen plant at a government-run Covid-19 hospital in Maharashtra’s Jalna district has made progress in curing patients and reduced mortality, a senior fitness official said.

The plant, opened through Health Minister Rajesh Tope on August 15, supplies bulk tanks that are periodically filled with the liquid oxygen generated there, these tanks supply oxygen to a hundred patients at a time in the hospital, civilian surgeon Archana Bhosale told PTI.Tuesday.

Oxygen cure is an essential component of covid-19’s critically ill patients’ remedy, he said.

Initially, the covid-19 mortality rate in the district is 4.5%, and has now dropped to 2.8%.The recovery rate in Jalna is 71%, the official said.Currently, 238 patients are being treated at the Covid- 19 hospital here, he said.
