According to an organization’s projections, the United States will achieve 310,000 COVID-19-related deaths by the end of 2020. This estimate, from the Institute for Metrics and Health Assessment, is particularly higher than the organization’s initial June forecast of 135,100 deaths through the end of 2020. end of 2020. In its most recent projections, the IHME has taken into account the next school year and the increase in the number of Americans returning to work.
24/7 Wall St. reviewed projections by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, an independent global fitness study center at the University of Washington, on the estimated maximum dates of COVID-19 for the state, either in terms of the total number of active infections and the total number of hospital beds needed to treat coVID-19 patients.
When the IHME published its projections on 29 May, at a time when the spread of COVID-19 was under the impression that it was slowing throughout the country, the institute estimated that each and every state had peaked up to that date or earlier. . However, according to the revised series of projections published on August 21, 36 states have yet to reach peaks in active infections and 30 have yet to reach peak hospital bed use. In particular, there are 15 states that will not succeed on peak instances until at least December 1.

Many states that have not yet reached peak dates are those where the average number of new daily instances has increased, particularly in summer, such as Texas, Georgia, and Nevada. There are also a lot of states that are beginning to see a significant increase in the number of cases, such as Hawaii, North Dakota and South Dakota, and they will not peak until at least winter.
In Hawaii, for example, the number of new instances consistent with 100,000 buildings increased from 10 consistent with the day of the week ending August 9 to August 14 according to the day of the week ending August 23, the largest construction in any state. IMHE anticipates that Hawaii will not succeed in peak cases or use of hospital beds until December 1 or later. These are the states where the spread of the virus slows down (and where it gets worse).
