Health officials in the United Arab Emirates have warned others who oppose products that falsely claim to fight COVID-19, as a recent example that a product that releases chlorine dioxide fuel can cause coronavirus.
“Dr. (Omar) al-Hammadi warned others who oppose products that are falsely touted for their ability to combat COVID-19 without any clinical basis. He gave as an example a product that releases gaseous chlorine dioxide, which is wrongly claimed to be able to dispose of the virus before it enters the human body,” the official spokesman for the UAE government said Tuesday at a press conference.
