The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention on Sunday reported 400 cases of Covid-19 coronavirus, including 387 recoveries and no deaths.

The total number of assets is 18,460.

The new instances were detected in another 214,557 tests.

The total number of cases in the UAE as of 2 October is 1,028,333, while the total number of recoveries is 1,007,528. The death toll now stands at 2,345.

As the world regains with fewer restrictions, Pakistan also got rid of its mandatory mask requirement on domestic and foreign flights, as Covid cases have dropped dramatically, Khaleej Times has learned.

Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority on Saturday issued a notice to all airlines and agents that masks are no longer mandatory on board flights after the NCOC advised that pandemic-related restrictions should be eased following the decline in Covid-19 cases in the country.

“Wearing a mask is no longer a requirement for passengers on domestic and foreign flights. However, it is still preferable,” according to an NCOC memo issued Friday.

Pakistan recorded 75 new cases of covid-19 on Friday, bringing the number of other affected people to 1,572,678, according to the most recent data from the Ministry of Health.

Some 11,718 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the country on Friday and the most recent positivity rate was 0. 64%.

Sohail Sheikh, airblue’s country director for the UAE, welcomed the NCOC and CAA resolution and said it would help reactivate the air on domestic and foreign routes.

“We are going back to the general days as the pandemic restrictions are almost over. The resolution will revive air travel, encourage tourism and develop economic activities across the country,” Sheikh told the Khaleej Times.

A spokesman for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) said the airline would stick to the CAA’s notice.

“The commands will be compiled as soon as CAA Pakistan issues an opinion contrary to the aforementioned guidelines,” the spokesperson said, referring to the NCOC directive.

Last week, the UAE relaxed almost all covid-related restrictions, adding the optional use of a mask on foreign flights.
