Coronavirus: UAE reports 30% increase in COVID-19 cases among Emirati citizens

The United Arab Emirates reported 239 new coronaviruses on Thursday, with a new COVID-19-related death.

The UAE Ministry of Health showed 354 new recoveries, with a total of 55,739 instances recovered.

The country has recorded 61,845 cases since the start of the pandemic, with a total of 354 deaths.

Also on Thursday, the Minister of Health and Prevention of the United Arab Emirates, Abdul Rahman Al Owais, announced that there had been a 30% increase in new cases of coronavirus among citizens of the United Arab Emirates in recent days, according to the official WAM news agency.

He said some citizens “have become lax in the implementation of preventive measures and do not respect the rules of protection and physical withdrawal, meetings and social visits,” WAM said.
