“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has completed the air transport of Emirati citizens and their partners from Qatar Kuwait to the United Arab Emirates, where 73 other people have been repatriated, adding 41 Emirati with 32 of their partners,” the ministry said in a statement.
“Repatriation included humanitarian cases, the elderly, pregnant women and several people with chronic diseases,” the ministry added.
Foreign Ministry Under-Secretary Khalid Abdullah Humaid Belhoul thanked Kuwait for its cooperation in repatriating Emirati on Kuwait Airways.
The UAE said in mid-July that its airspace would be closed to Qatari flights and that it would present to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) the legal case supporting its right to close its airspace to Qatari aircraft.
The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt cut off diplomatic industry, industry and shipping with Qatar in June 2017, accusing it of supporting terrorism, a rate denied through Doha.
