NEW YORK CITY – Out-of-state travelers flying at JFK and LaGuardia airports will soon have to pass to locate a coronavirus control site.
“Lately we’re setting up sites at our airports,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Monday.
Cuomo said the control sites will help the state’s progress to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The state’s infection recently fell to 0.66%, the lowest since the coronavirus crisis, Cuomo said.
But rates in other states have risen and led Cuomo and New York officials to institute a number of fitness measures, adding a list of states where travelers will have to be quarantined for two weeks.
Travelers arriving at airports had to fill out forms.
Cuomo said the site will be controlled by the city’s port authority and fitness hospitals. They’ll run tests faster, he said.
