Coronavirus: Singapore and South Korea to start fast lane for must-have business and official on Friday

SINGAPORE – Singapore and South Korea have reached a rapid follow-up agreement that will allow for an essential trade activity between the two countries from Friday 4 September.

Eligible travellers must comply with agreed and public aptitude measures in force in both countries.

More main points on quick follow-up arrangements and application procedure will be published on SafeTravel through Friday.

The Foreign Ministry said Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan and her South Korean counterpart, Kang Kyung-wha, spoke on the phone Wednesday and welcomed the conclusion of the quick talks.

He said ministers had also reaffirmed the importance of bilateral cooperation in jointly overcoming the non-unusual demanding situations of the two countries amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

This is the fast-track time that Singapore has announced over so many other days, following a pact with Brunei on Tuesday.

The Republic also has an agreement on this with China and Malaysia.
