Coronavirus: Saudi Arabia extends validity of expired expat visas to 3 months

Saudi Arabia has extended the validity of expired visas for all expats outside the UK for an era of 3 months, announced on Monday the Directorate-General of the Passport Authority (Jawazat).

The Saudi authority said that the beneficiaries of this resolution are expatriates whose round-trip visas expired when flights to and from the Kingdom were suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Kingdom suspended all foreign and domestic flights in mid-March as a component of its efforts to involve the coronavirus.

The country had begun implementing its slow reopening plan last May and nevertheless announced a “return to normality” on June 21.

It lifted the ban on domestic flights from 31 May, but foreign flights to and from the Kingdom were suspended.

The Kingdom’s aviation authority said in mid-June that it was reviewing the resolution to resume foreign flights, but announced last week that it had not set an express date for the resumption of foreign travel.

Saudi Arabia reported that 268934 showed coronavirus, 222936 patients cured and 2,760 deaths on Monday to the Ministry of Health.
